Mylissa Fitzsimmons
Mylissa spent her early years in Moab, Utah then as a teenager in Oregon.
In high school, she took to skateboarding and photography, photographing bands and making super-8 skate videos. It was during her last year of school she was introduced to documentary filmmaking. After 15 years making doc films she made the transition into narrative films and writing.
Her films include, Long Way Home, Mercy, the award-winning That Party That One Night, and Who Decides. As well as writing and directing, she was a producer on the award-winning film Cul-de-Sac and the feature film A Black Rift Begins To Yawn.
Mylissa has been a finalist for various film programs, including the HBO Directing Fellowship, and a Screen Craft finalist for her short story writing. In 2017 she won the Sun Valley Film Festival Short Film Lab for her script Who Decides. In 2018 she was invited to participate in The Reykjavik Talent Lab in Iceland. Her films have played at various festivals around the world and can be seen online.
Mylissa lives in Los Angeles, CA.
