Aisha Amin
Aisha Amin is a filmmaker who is interested in the intersection of cinematic storytelling and non-fiction film, exploring the boundaries of hybrid documentary.
Her work focuses on creating portraits of unique and diverse communities within the US and covers themes such as identity, race, religion, and gentrification.
She is currently in her last semester as the 2019-2020 Sally Burns Shenkman Woman Filmmaker Fellow at the Jacob Burns Film Center where she has directed two short documentaries. Her last short documentary, Friday, is a portrait of a historically black mosque in Brooklyn, NY and is currently on the festival circuit.
