Director Statement
While writing this film, I was becoming aware of my inability to properly communicate with someone I really cared about and its effect on our relationship. We were slowly becoming more distant, and I found myself trying to find the right words to express how I felt––but nothing ever felt right. I became terrified that I would seem stupid or pathetic, and because of that, I said nothing at all. When I finally tried to say something, it was already too late. The moment had passed, and things changed so suddenly in a way that I never saw coming. I thought I had more time, but I didn’t.
However, as more time went on, I realized that everything had happened the way it was meant to happen, and I found myself in the place that I needed to be and that I should learn to trust the process of life as it was unfolding before me.
All Tomorrow’s People is a film about communication, love, the fleeting nature of life, and ultimately learning to let go of fear and trusting the process that is our lives.
