Karan Tejpal's film initiation started as an AD on Lage Raho Munna Bhai in 2006.

Quickly bitten by the cinema bug, he followed the experience with film school at New York Film Academy in 2007. This was his first true foray in the world of writing and directing. On his return to Bombay he worked on several feature films and multiple commercials as a 1st AD. During this period he simultaneously developed other projects – short films, documentaries and feature length scripts. 

Currently, he is in the process of post-production of a documentary on Kashmir, via a focus on the Amarnath Shrine Pilgrimage. While also pitching his two feature scripts - The Sunset Club, selected for the NFDC Screenwriters Lab 2014 and Nisar, selected for the Drishyam Sundance Screenwriters Lab 2016.
